Never drink alcoholic beverages before driving. This is the main frequent cause of serious accidents. If you drink, use a non-drinking designated driver, or a call taxi.
Check your car over mechanically, with headlights, brake, and taillights, and the brakes or have this done by a proficient mechanic.
Turn on your lights at any time visibility is low, such as at dusk, while raining, in tunnels, and similar.
Mentally get ready for driving because If you are diverted, upset, or unusually tired and sleepy, do not drive.
Follow traffic rules, lights and signs, but use your judgment too. Don’t undertake to beat red lights. When you try to dash a red light, there are many critical hazards.
Use turn signals to indicate where and when you’re going to turn. Other drivers must to know this. It’s one of the common good manners.
Trucks are a particular hazard. Give them extra space. They cannot see other vehicles as well as you can in a car.
Blow the horn only when it’s needed to avoid an accident. Otherwise it is one of the bad-mannered; it is adds to noise pollution.
Don’t turn your vision. Avoid decals, dangling objects from the rear-view mirror, & similar.
For safe driving use your mirrors. Excellent safe driving includes not only a great awareness of what is leading of you, but what is after you, what is next to you.
