Nissan Motor exposed the company’s latest Micra, the 4th generation of the compact city car, at the 80th International Geneva Motor Show. At a look, Nissan Micra offers the latest features including spacious interior, all new 3-cylinder petrol engines with supercharged & direct injection version, & all new platforms.
Holding its compact dimensions, in these Micra is slightly longer & slightly lower. Mounted onto Nissan’s new signature V-platform, the suspension has been aimed to be both compact, minimizing intrusion at the rear for maximum trunk space, but not at the cost of the car’s on-road dynamics.
In Europe, a simple engine line-up sees just 2 engines options & both are variations on Nissan’s all-new naturally aspirated HR12 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Inheriting its DNA from the HR16 4-cylinder engine powering the Note & Qashqai, in this Micra engine employs valve-timing control. Power is rated at 59kW (80ps, while torque production is 108Nm).
Both engine selections in Europe are on hand with either a 5-speed manual gearbox r Nissan’s latest CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). The wide gear coverage enables the 1.2-litre engine to attain the economy level of a 1.0-litre plus brisk acceleration. Moreover, Nissan will also gives supercharged 1.2-litre direct injection iteration by a start-stop system fixed as standard in Europe. Nissan will start the sales in Thailand in March & European sales will start in November this year.
